Before you spend another dime on marketing, ask yourself one simple question:
Do I know how much each client is worth to my business?

Most business owners don’t. They launch ad campaigns, post on social media, or pay for print space without knowing whether those efforts actually lead to long-term profit—or just a quick sale.

That’s where Lifetime Value (LTV) comes in. It’s the total amount of revenue you can expect to earn from a client over the course of your relationship with them. It’s not just that first transaction. It’s repeat business. Referrals. Renewals. Upgrades. That’s the real gold.

Let’s Talk Numbers
If you own a service business and your average client spends $300 per visit, comes in 4 times a year, and stays with you for 5 years, that one client isn’t worth $300—they’re worth $6,000.

$300 x 4 x 5 = $6,000

Wouldn’t you invest $300 to get a $6,000 client? Probably yes. But if you don’t know the lifetime value, you might panic at that $300 marketing spend and shut things down too soon.

Knowing your LTV gives you confidence. It helps you make smarter decisions about your marketing budget, set realistic goals, and measure success beyond just one-off sales.

Why This Matters Now
In today’s noisy market, your competitors are everywhere. They’re bidding on the same keywords, showing up in the same feeds, and trying to win the same customers. The businesses that win are the ones that know their numbers—and use them to guide their strategy.

If you don’t know your LTV, marketing feels like a gamble.  If you do know it, it becomes a smart investment.
